Take a look at some of the recent reviews we’ve received:

I needed Plumbing services for three clogged drains and Dan came out along with his partner and took care of business. The fact that he was able to unclog the main shower drain was amazing, I had a few other plumbers come try and couldn’t handle the job. But Dan handled it, his confidence told me this is the guy for the job and sure enough he didn’t disappoint. So far Accurate team has very high points with me. Keep up the great customer service and support. – Luz

Great work and super friendly technician for our HVAC/Duct needs! Jacob was pretty amazing! Also the cost made sense and for the quality of work it was fair. Also appreciated his manner of approaching issues and explaining why maintenance is a good thing and what repairs could be needed to give me as a homeowner knowledge and options. Was thorough and felt like we got to know him versus just coming to do a job.

10/10 would hire and will hire again. – Johnson

This is the second time I use this company and they didn’t disappoint. Our technician, Paul was super knowledgeable, and reviewed several options with what we can do for ceiling fan installation and rewire work. He was polite, prompt and just a joy to speak with. I love their membership plan as well. Helps with more than just ceiling fans. Ditch the others and go with this company, you won’t regret it. – Maria

We needed 4 electrical jobs done, ceiling fan installation, light fixture installation, motion sensors for lighting, and even a car charging station in our garage.  We were told the whole job would take a day (8 hours) to complete.  Lance, and his apprentice Ron, did them in about 5 1/2 hours, which included a trip to Home Depot.  Two thumbs up!!!

Both Lance and Ron were very professional throughout the entire time they were at our place.  They were able to answer any and all of our questions.  They cleaned up after themselves, which even included using their portable vacuum.  They even took the trash to the dumpster for us.  I’m not sure if that’s normal, but to me, that’s above and beyond.

We’ll definitely be requesting Lance for any future electrical projects and since this part has been a good experience, possible future plumbing projects for Accurate. – Roderick

We couldn’t be happier to hear that you are pleased with the quality of our team and their work as we try hard to ensure a happy experience for all of our customers.

Whether it’s a commercial or residential location, we know that taking care of your property is important to you. It’s important to us too and we strive to show you that from the time you reach out to schedule your appointment (at 1-626-495-3070 ) and all the way through the project completion.

Condensation on your Windows?

Have you ever noticed condensation on the windows in your home? While it’s not the most beautiful thing to look at, it might also be the sign of an air-quality problem inside your home. Good news is there are some things you can do to try to fix it.

How Does Condensation on Windows Happen?

The condensation on your windows happens when the damp warm air in your home is met by the colder surface of the windows. When the air outside gets cooler, think fall and winter season, is when you’ll see it happening most.

While it may seem just like an aesthetic issue, having moisture in places it should not be can lead to mildew. And having moisture and mildew around wood could lead to mold or rot.

If you’re seeing condensation on your windows first step is to designate if it’s happening on the window or in between the window panes as they are caused by two different issues.

Problem 1: Moisture in between window panes

When you notice the moisture is in between the window panes, that means there is an issue with your window. This happens when the window seal stops working as moisture slips between the two panes of glass.

Solution: Repair or replace the window

Problem 2: Moisture on the window

The moisture on your window comes from the warm moist air in your home. The humidity in your home is what causes condensation on the glass, so that is what must be adjusted.

Solution: Decrease the humidity in your home

How to Decrease The Humidity in Your Home

There are several options for eliminating moisture, and therefore decreasing the humidity from the air inside your home.

Ceiling Fans-when your ceiling fans are on, they keep air flowing inside the home so any humid air does not get stuck in one spot of the house.

Exhaust fans-usually found in humidity hotspots like your bathroom or above the kitchen stove, make sure you’re using them as they help draw the warm moist air away before it can impact the humidity level of your home.

Open window treatments – Keeping your blinds, drapes or other curtains open can decrease condensation as it prevents the damp air from being caught against the window pane.

Lower your humidifier- if you have a small humidifier or one for the whole house, find the control on the unit and lower the dial to a lower humidity setting. A technician may recommend a whole-house humidifier to help you not only control the humidity but also the air quality within your home.

Get a dehumidifier- If you don’t have a humidifier going and your home’s humidity level is higher than you prefer, think about purchasing a dehumidifier. While humidifiers add moisture inside your home so the air doesn’t become too dry, a dehumidifier extracts excess moisture out of the air.

Portable dehumidifiers can eliminate the water from an entire room. However, the portable units require emptying out of water trays and only service a single room. A whole house dehumidifier on the other hand eliminates moisture from your entire home.

Whole house dehumidifier systems allow you to establish a humidity level precisely as you would choose a temperature on your thermostat. The unit will start automatically when the humidity level exceeds the set level. These systems coordinate with your home’s HVAC system, so you will receive the best results if you contact our experienced professionals at Accurate Electric, Heating, Plumbing & Air.

These changes can help lower the humidity inside your home and move the air around so you can enjoy clear, moisture-free windows even in the Buena Park winter.  If you have any questions about condensation on your windows, contact our friendly team at Accurate Electric Plumbing & Heating to help!

5 Ways to Protect Your Thermostat & HVAC Unit

The HVAC unit(s) in your home are mostly controlled by the thermostat which can make keeping the house at a comfortable temperature, no matter what time of year, as easy as a push of a button or turn of a knob. But did you know there are 5 common problems that could impact the effectiveness of your thermostat? And if these problems go unnoticed, your HVAC unit will not be working efficiently or correctly. Both of which will mean unexpected, and oftentimes unnecessary, expenses.

To protect the comfort of your home, and your wallet, check out the list of 5 ways you can get the most out of your thermostat & protect your HVAC unit.

  1. AGE

The age of the thermostat matters. Over time, older units will struggle to maintain the desired temperature in the home. Which means they will be taxing to your HVAC unit. Not only that, the current programmable technology available in newer thermostats can help both aesthetically improve the walls of your Claremont home and help simplify the heating and cooling schedule to fit your needs while being as energy efficient as possible.

      2. INSTALLATION

It can be difficult to install a new thermostat, especially with the complex need to make the thermostat level. Traditional mercury bulb thermostats will not function properly if they are not level. Without it working properly means the home is not at the desired temperature or it’s wasting energy and straining the HVAC unit itself.

And while installing a thermostat might seem simple and easy for a homeowner to do, we recommend you call our team of experts at Accurate Electric, Heating, Plumbing & Air to ensure it’s done correctly. Entrusting the thermostat installation to the experts means your unit will be set up to keep you and your family comfortable inside no matter the temperature outside.

      3.  DUST

Dust accumulates all over the house – and can even get into the thermostat itself. This means the thermostat won’t be able to function properly. If you don’t know how to clean the internal components of your unit, then make sure to reach out to professionals that perform cooling and heating services in Claremont.

      4. WIRING

Loose wires are another cause for a thermostat to not work properly. This could happen over time with an older thermostat, or because of a poor installation job. How do you know if you have loose wires? The unit is powering on and off without anyone touching it. Don’t wait too long to fix this as an electrical fire may occur. And, best to not solve this one on your own as you will want to ensure an electrician handles it. (May we suggest our trained & certified electricians at Accurate Electric Plumbing Heating and Air?)

      5. TEMPERATURE RANGE

You don’t want your thermostat to be set too high in the winter or too low in the summer. Doing so puts more strain on your HVAC unit and therefore runs up your electricity bill.

When it’s hot outside, aim to set it between 75°F and 78°F; keeping in mind that every degree you raise the thermostat can result in a 5 percent savings in cooling costs. Then when it’s cold outside, aim for 68°F during the day and lower it to 60°F at night.  You will save about 3 percent of heating costs for every degree you reduce the temperature below 70°F.

Replacing an old or damaged thermostat, and doing so correctly might cost you anywhere from $15 – $300 for the unit itself, plus the fee of having an expert. Remember that doing so and having a functional thermostat protects the bigger investment within your home; the HVAC unit. This can end up saving you thousands of dollars and ensure comfortable days and nights in your home.

Improve Air Quality with A New Air Conditioner Installation

Summer heat is dangerous for many people. As a result, air conditioning has become more than a convenience in areas like Glendora, CA. In many cases, it is a lifesaver. Unfortunately, older A/C systems can contribute to poor indoor air quality, a problem that has been linked to various health conditions.

Indoor Air Can Be a Health Problem

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has identified indoor air pollution as a health hazard. Concentrations of some pollutants have increased due to factors like energy-efficient building construction that lacks sufficient ventilation to ensure needed air exchange. The increased use of synthetic building materials, furnishings, pesticides, household cleaners, and personal care products have also contributed to poor air quality.

One factor that makes the issue so dangerous is that the very young, older adults, and individuals with respiratory or cardiovascular disease often spend the most time indoors. As a result, during the extreme summer heat, those who are most vulnerable rely on air conditioning even more than the general population.

The A/C that is protecting individuals from heat-related issues can make them sick if older or poorly maintained units contribute to indoor air pollution. As a result, homeowners increasingly rely on experts like Accurate Electric Plumbing Heating & Air to evaluate home air quality and provide replacement air conditioners when necessary.

An Air Conditioner Can Produce Contaminants

One of the reasons that central air conditioning is so popular is that it creates a closed, temperature-controlled environment. The HVAC system is responsible for circulating fresh air. When a unit is in good condition and well-maintained, replacing filters regularly is usually enough to remove pollen, allergens, dust, pesticides, and other outdoor irritants from the air.

But, it’s a problem if you have an old, inefficient unit that can actually contribute to poor air quality. That’s especially true if you run the air conditioner 24 hours a day while keeping doors and windows closed.

An air conditioner pushes outside air into your home, passes it through a filter, and over a cold coil. Air is then pushed through vents. Older units can struggle with this process, which impacts air quality. If the evaporator coils and ductwork need cleaning, they can add pollutants to indoor air. Cooling hot air creates condensation and moisture that must be channeled away. If the system does this poorly, the unit can become a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria.

Your Older A/C May Circulate Irritants

There is a common belief that central air conditioning systems bring fresh air in from outdoors, but this is false. They can only recycle air already present in your home. Nor do air conditioners automatically purify the air. While they filter pollen, dust, and other allergens, they do not clean the air. The filters with higher ratings may filter better, but a poorly functioning unit can still circulate pollutants.

The EPA reports that Americans spend 90% of their time indoors, and concentrations of some pollutants can be two to five times higher inside the structure. An older air conditioning unit and dirty ductwork in Glendora can make the matter worse.

A Replacement Air Conditioner Offers Benefits

Replacing an air conditioner over ten years old can contribute to a healthier home. Once your new ac installation is complete, you also enjoy several other benefits.

The newest air conditioners include technology designed to help keep indoor air healthy. They provide exceptional humidity control, air purification, and ventilation.

Some manufacturers offer unique filtration technology. A filtration system can help remove dust, mold, and pollen pollutants. Some systems are compatible with HVAC add-ons that can also help.

For example, suppose the humidity in your home is a problem. In that case, a technician may recommend whole-house humidifiers and energy recovery ventilators so that you achieve the best possible indoor air quality.

The benefits of a new air conditioner also include:

  • Energy efficiency. New HVAC systems are designed to reduce energy consumption.
  • Reduced utility bills. New air conditioning systems include a yellow label that calculates their estimated operating costs. You can use the guide to see how much a replacement system will save you.
  • A more comfortable home.  Because older units struggle to do their job, they do not keep your home as comfortable. Newer systems are designed with technology that allows them to adjust and ensure maximum comfort.
  • Increased durability. A high-quality replacement air conditioner is designed for years of high performance. Outdoor elements stand up to all types of weather.

Technicians Install Air Scrubbers

A new air conditioner goes a long way toward improving your home’s indoor air in Rancho Cucamonga, especially if it is well-maintained. You can enhance these advantages by adding an air scrubber that purifies the air.

An HVAC professional can provide an air scrubber that has been engineered to be installed in your HVAC system. A scrubber will purify all of your home’s air.

A scrubber can eliminate:

  • Particulates, including dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and dirt.
  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including vapors, chemicals, odors, and smoke
  • Microscopic living organisms such as mildew, mold, bacteria, and viruses

An HVAC technician can install an air scrubber as a permanent fixture in your home’s ductwork. When the system turns on, air flows through and passes through a germicidal light. The light disrupts airborne contaminants’ DNA, which kills them. Unlike air filters that only trap pollutants, air scrubbers destroy pathogens and contaminants.

An air scrubber can break up and alter the structure of gasses, smoke, and other air impurities. The devices kill fungi, mold, viruses, and spores. Manufacturers also offer ozone technology models to combat odors from household products, smoke, pets, and more. An air scrubber uses as little as 18 watts of electricity.

Signs of Plumbing’s Most Common Problems

Don’t wait for a pipe to burst and your home to suffer from water damage when there are some common signs that you can look for to potentially prevent water issues in your home. Catching potential water leak issues early helps to eliminate problems associated with unwanted water from broken pipes while keeping your costs down. This is why we encourage you to do regular inspections of your plumbing parts throughout your Glendora home.

When doing regular inspections of your plumbing make sure to check under sinks & tubs, inside access panels near your showers, sinks or appliances, all attachments to toilets, water heaters & appliances and in your basement or crawl spaces. This includes your dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerators, water heaters, water filtration systems, faucets & toilets.

Common signs of plumbing problems to look out for:

Leaking

When you find a leak, it is most likely to happen at connection points meaning where the appliance is hooked up to the water source. A crack in the toilet tank can start as a hairline crack and spread slowly giving you the opportunity to catch it before expensive damage is done.

Deposit buildup

White deposits on copper pipes are signs that water is already leaking and is something that needs to be addressed before you find yourself with water pooling or shooting out in places it should not be.

Corrosion

On a braided stainless steel supply line, you may see some corrosion such as rust, discoloration or braids that are broken apart. With brass valves, the corrosion can be white, green, or blue. Usually, corrosion is an indication that there is a water chemistry problem and getting it tested could prevent further damage.

Cracking

This usually happens after the other signs listed above occur as the hose cracks under the water pressure.

If you happen to see any of these signs of a plumbing problem, call in one of the Accurate Electric Plumbing & Heating experts as soon as possible. The longer you allow water to be present in your home the more damage can occur. Our emergency repair team can troubleshoot any problem and quickly determine the cause and the solution so that you can have water flowing again without damage.

In addition to the signs of plumbing issues mentioned above, other ways to know if there is a problem with your plumbing include:

  • High Water Bills. Higher than regular water bills without any change in your use of water habits might mean there is a leak. This happens when there is running water from a dripping faucet, or running toilet.
  • Mold. Mold growth happens with moisture which might be from indoor plumbing problems. Other reasons mold might be inside the home could be from leaky roofs or flooding as well.
  • Soggy Grass. If your yard or sidewalk has some soggy areas it’s a telltale sign that there is a water leak in the yard.

Don’t forget:

Common plumbing issues are not just due to a lack of maintenance as they can also come from installation errors or manufacturing defects. Keeping up with regular maintenance as per the manufacturer’s recommendation for your appliance can be one more way to keep water damage at bay.

Locate your house’s water shut-off valve before you have a problem and need to locate it in a pinch (or in the case of a burst pipe and water leaking).

Our team of plumbing professionals at Accurate Electric Heating & Plumbing can help no matter how big or small the plumbing issue and no matter the time of day. We are on call and ready to protect your house so you can get back to living comfortably at home if there ever is an issue that comes up.

Air Conditioners That Improve Air Quality

All families need a healthier living environment within their homes, and their indoor air quality can affect not only their health but also their heating and cooling systems. Routine maintenance services, new air conditioners, and even simple tasks improve the air quality and give the family a healthier and cleaner home. HVAC professionals offer helpful advice about indoor air quality, and they frequently recommend more modern air conditioning systems that help achieve the owner’s objectives.

Keep Air Filters Cleaner

Air filters capture dirt, dust, and debris and keep these substances out of the air conditioner and the indoor air. Property owners often forget to change out their air filters, and experts recommend replacing the air filters once a month for maximum benefits. Dirty air filters cause clogs inside the unit and prevent clean air from circulating in the home. Speak to the professionals at Accurate Electric Plumbing Heating & Air and find out about improving air quality.

Install a New Air Conditioner

A new air conditioner gives the homeowner a fresh start, and the upgraded AC system gives them improved air quality. More modern air conditioners have better air filters and filtration systems to pull particles from the air and stop them from circulating everywhere. During the air conditioning installation, the technicians clean out the space where the new system goes, and they won’t leave any dirt or dust behind.

HVAC technicians show the client a full catalog of air conditioning units that meet the homeowner’s needs. The service providers complete estimates for any unit of interest and find systems that the customer can afford. If the homeowner needs financing, the technicians present them with different payment structures that are affordable and give property owners faster access to a new AC system.

If the homeowner needs a new AC, the technicians help them find the best size for their home. They start by finding the total BTUs required for cooling the home. Technicians find the area of each living area and multiply the area by 25 BTUs. The service provider adds up the total BTUs for each living space to find the best AC for their customer and completes the air conditioning installation.

Install an Air Cleaner

HVAC professionals recommend air scrubbers to keep the indoor air cleaner and eliminate pathogens, contaminants, and allergens. Many households include small children, and if they are attending school, they will get exposed to germs. An air cleaner filters the germs out of the air and lowers the frequency of household illnesses. Following measures to improve indoor air quality helps families stay healthier, and the air conditioner will perform better.

Air cleaners are wonderful products for homeowners or families that have allergies or respiratory conditions. All the family must do is change the air filter on the air cleaner to get the maximum results, and they often see a significant reduction in their symptoms. Everyone will breathe easier if the air is cleaner and particles don’t get in their way.

Set Up Seasonal Cleaning Before the Season Starts

Air conditioners require routine maintenance to improve performance and prevent system failures. Seasonal cleaning services are a must for all air conditioners, and homeowners should set up the services before they turn on the AC for the season. Technicians clean out the entire system to remove debris, dust, and particles and improve air quality and circulation.

HVAC professionals open up the inside and outside units to remove everything that has accumulated between seasons. Leaves and cut grass are likely to become trapped inside the exterior unit if it is close to the lawn or landscaping. Some property owners need to transfer their exterior units onto concrete slabs to reduce the debris accumulation and keep the unit cleaner.

Deep Clean Carpets Twice a Year

Dust, dirt, and particles become trapped in carpet fibers, and unpleasant smells in the carpet could become overwhelming. Even with daily vacuuming, the homeowner cannot get all the particles out of their carpet and keep the indoor air as clean as it could be. HVAC professionals recommend having the carpeting deep cleaned at least twice a year. Studies show that a professional deep cleaning lifts more particles and eliminates debris that could lead to mold in the flooring. If the homeowner has pets, they might want to schedule deep cleanings more often to control dander and pet smells.

Let Some Fresh Air In

In the spring, homeowners can open up the doors and windows and let some fresh air into the home. The temperatures are milder and won’t make the family uncomfortable without climate control. It’s important to get fresh air into the home to improve air quality and force stagnant air out of the home. If a family member has been ill, opening the doors and windows forces germs out of the air and introduces fresher and cleaner air into the property. Everyone needs a breath of fresh air from time to time to feel better and stay healthier. Take advantage of the nice weather to improve your home’s indoor air quality.

Have Your Home Deep Cleaned At Least Three Times a Year

No matter how well the homeowner cleans their property, they cannot get everything cleaned daily. HVAC experts recommend a major deep clean for the entire property, and if the owner sets up a professional cleaning, they don’t have to take on the task themselves or overburden their family.

After professional cleanings, the home smells fresh, and the family enjoys a healthier living environment. The frequency at which the owner chooses to get their home clean directly affects the air quality and how efficiently their air conditioning system operates. A cleaner property can maximize the lifespan of the AC and give the homeowner and their family many more years of reliable cooling services.

Home Maintenance Every New Homeowner Should Implement

Let’s talk about those home maintenance tasks that every new (and not so new) homeowner should implement:

Owning a house is an exciting milestone. It’s usually something you’ve thought about for a while and is the most expensive thing you’ve purchased. So, first things first, congratulations!

A lot of new responsibilities come with owning a house. Some you’d expect and many more unexpected tasks. The best way to protect this investment and take care of your home is through routine maintenance. You certainly could wait until something goes wrong to learn about your home. Or you could implement these home maintenance tips now to help keep unplanned, unpleasant, unexpected, and costly surprises at bay.

Home maintenance tasks every homeowner should implement:

Before you move into your new home:

  • Painting
    • Painting before you move in can be much easier with open spaces and without furniture to worry about.
  • Deep clean the house.
    • Deep cleaning the house not only gives you a fresh new start, but cleaning and vacuuming removes dust, dirt, fur, pet dander, and other contaminants that affect your health, and over time, impact the quality of your home fixtures and features.
  • Change the locks.
    • Hire a locksmith to change all the locks in the house. Don’t forget to make an extra copy or three.
  • On/Off Switches
    • Locate your circuit breaker & water valve shut off now. When you need either of these urgently is NOT the time to be looking around for it. Trust us!
  • Smoke alarms
    • Locate and test your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide sensors inside the house. Change all the batteries now and make sure to have extra batteries for both on hand. Create a family plan on what to do in the event that either one of these go off.

As you’re getting settled inside your new home:

  • Get to you know you’re neighbors
    • Knowing the people who live near you is beneficial for everyone. Whether it’s to help get your mail when you’re on vacation, to have someone watch the house when out of town, to get recommendations for good local businesses (like Accurate Plumbing, Heating & Electric), or to have a friendly face to wave at!
  • Unpack one box at a time
    • The boxes might feel like they are never ending so keep at the unboxing and putting away of items one box at a time. Keep going as items left in a box might end up staying there until it’s time to move out!
  • Collect, save and store all user manuals and warranties in one place
    • Taking the time as you unbox new appliances to save the user manual or warranty will save you in the time of needing it in the future. Whether it’s putting them into a 3 ring binder, a plastic back or a storage box pick what works best for you and remember where you store it! Also, a lot of companies have their user manuals available online so consider creating a document with the link for all of them if you prefer digital records vs paper records.
  • Find reliable service contacts
    • The list of experts needed to maintain your home for years to come includes a handyman, landscaper, painter, plumber, locksmith, HVAC, plumbing & electrical technicians. Create a list of reliable contacts so you know who to call for years to come!
  • Trash and recycling pickup
    • Learn your new areas trash and recycling pickup protocols. Is it offered by the city or is it privately done? What is the schedule? What can or cannot be included? These details change by zip code so take the time to familiarize yourself with the new homes schedule.
  • Bad weather plans
    • Depending on where you live, you’ll want to be prepared for the bad weather that might occur. Whether it’s snow, fires, tornadoes, or earthquakes, prepare ahead of time by knowing if they have a season, what supplies you might need and what to do when there is a warning or watch in your area. Check out California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services here: https://www.caloes.ca.gov/

Ongoing ways to care for and maintain your home:

  • Change air filters monthly
  • Schedule annual HVAC maintenance
  • Get plumbing lines inspected to avoid issues before they become a major concern
  • Change smoke detector batteries at least once a year
  • Winterize your home
  • Landscaping maintenance
  • Pest control
  • Clean out gutters at least once a year

Taking the time to maintain your home on a regular schedule will save you from some avoidable stress, as well as money and time. Not all the tasks listed above need to be outsourced as not all of them need to be performed by you either!  A responsible homeowner that keeps & maintains their property in good condition also increases the chance of a good resale price when selling it later on.

The longer you stay in your home make sure to keep up the maintenance that’s monthly, seasonally, and annually needed. At the first sign of a problem, call in a professional instead of trying to wait it out. You can count on Accurate Electric, Plumbing, Heating, and Air, as our heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical technicians are a trusted partner to provide a wide range of services that will keep your family comfortable all year long.

Top Tips of Having An Efficient Cooling & HVAC System

Residents in the Glendora, CA, area know how difficult dealing with hot summer temperatures is. Without a properly working air conditioning system in a home, the summer months can be exhausting and uncomfortable. Relying on an experienced HVAC contractor will be the best way to maintain a home’s air conditioner. Homeowners can still take steps of their own to ensure a home’s HVAC system is properly maintained and operates when needed the most.

Knowing when to call a contractor for help is vital. Some situations can be repaired easily with minimal servicing, while others might require more extensive work. Knowing the difference between an emergency repair and a regular service call will help save Glendora homeowners money when dealing with cooling problems.

Finding The Right Contractor

Like any service industry, finding an HVAC contractor will require some work on the homeowner’s part. Contractors live by the reputation they build in their area for being dependable and affordable. Contractors like Accurate Electric Plumbing Heating & Air will offer free estimates before taking on a job.

Price and quality of repairs don’t always equal each other. Some contractors may charge a little more while offering services that are superior to their competitors. Comparing their labor costs and the time it will take them will help homeowners decide which service to choose. These estimates can also be helpful in finding the extent of damage to an HVAC unit.

Preventative Measures Can Also Help

When it comes to home appliances, routine maintenance is the best way to prolong their lifespan. Having a cooling and heating contractor provide scheduled Air conditioning maintenance can keep the HVAC system clean of debris, mold, and mildew to help improve its efficiency.

Scheduled HVAC maintenance and servicing can also alert homeowners of problems with the HVAC system and its components. If the ventilation has a clog somewhere, routine maintenance will help find and remove it to restore efficiency.

Preventing problems from arising will help cut down on future emergency repairs. Emergency services are often more expensive than regular HVAC repairs. Many contractors offer emergency services for their customers to help keep them cool during the summer months. When an air conditioner goes down on a hot day, it can be exhausting to get through the heat. Emergency repair and Cooling services will help prevent a risk to the homeowner’s health.

When Should I Call an HVAC Specialist?

The simplest answer to when a homeowner should call an HVAC specialist is? As soon as a drop in efficiency is noticed in their HVAC system. There are a variety of signs that an HVAC system is experiencing issues a homeowner can spot.

The following is a list of signs that an HVAC system has reduced efficiency and needs to be looked at by a specialist.

  • Significant Increase in Energy Bill Costs
  • HVAC System Decides When It Should Start or Stop
  • Increase in Noise from HVAC Unit
  • Uneven Cooling in the Home
  • Leaking AC Unit
  • Reduction of Airflow
  • A rise in the Home’s Humidity
  • Inability to Cool the Home
  • Frozen AC Coils

If one of these problems affects a home’s HVAC system, it’s time for a specialist to come and service it. They will be able to diagnose the problem and offer affordable, quick solutions to resolve them. Homeowners should remember to get an estimate before any repairs are agreed to.

For safety reasons, homeowners should never attempt to repair HVAC or electrical systems in their homes without proper training and experience. Heating and cooling contractors will have the experience and knowledge necessary to stay safe while performing the repairs or maintenance needed. The risk of electrocution when an inexperienced homeowner attempts repairs will be significant. Always stay safe and rely on professionals to ensure repairs are done properly.

Heating Service During the Summer Months

One added benefit to hiring a cooling and heating contractor during the summer months will be saving on heating maintenance. During the summer months, many contractors offer heating service and maintenance at a lower cost to prepare for winter. Keeping a heating system maintained can help to minimize frustration and reduce overall costs.

Being caught in the middle of winter with a non-functioning heating system can cause health risks. Emergency repairs can often restore heat to the home but can be expensive. Having a home’s HVAC system routinely maintained by a professional can help ensure it has a long lifespan and runs efficiently.

Another added benefit to having the heating system in a home maintained on a regular schedule will be catching problems in other portions of the HVAC system. This can be beneficial for homeowners who can’t afford year-round maintenance and opt for occasional maintenance instead. Contractors will be able to set up different scheduling for maintenance and cleaning that fits the homeowner’s time and budget, making it easy for a home’s HVAC system to run efficiently throughout the year.

Reliable Cooling Homeowners Can Depend On

HVAC systems are slowly becoming the most common method of cooling and heating a modern home. Contractors are becoming more comfortable working on HVAC systems commonly seen in the region. It’s crucial for homeowners to rely on their judgment when a system experiences an issue. Relying on experienced heating and cooling contractors will ensure the home’s HVAC system can provide the temperatures needed for the home to stay comfortable.

Scheduled maintenance and cleaning by a heating and cooling contractor can prolong an HVAC system’s lifespan. Routine HVAC maintenance can help increase the efficiency of the HVAC system and reduce electric bill costs over time. Local heating and cooling contractors can help keep a home cooled and comfortable during the summer months.

Top 5 Benefits of Whole House Fans

With energy costs on the rise, homeowners are searching for ways to keep their home at a comfortable temperature without spending a fortune. One way to accomplish this goal is to install a whole-house fan. Here we will talk about the top 5 benefits of whole-house fans, and how they can lower your utility bills.

Cool the Entire Home

Many people believe they are cooling the home when they use their HVAC system. However, this system only cools part of the residence. The structure and attic, for example, stay hot, which leads to the system working harder the next time it needs to bring the interior temperature down. Whole house fans installed by Accurate Electric Plumbing Heating & Air can combat this problem.

Walk around the home and look at the vents. They are present in the rooms, but not in the attic. In fact, the ductwork that distributes cool air often sits in the attic, but no ducts open to the attic. This leaves the attic hot, and the heat may transfer to the rooms below.

Install a whole house fan and it cools every part of the structure. This can lower the interior temperature of the home by as much as 30 degrees. This helps to keep energy costs low while allowing the residents to stay at a comfortable temperature.

Fresh Air

Whole house fans operate by pulling hot air from the home and pushing it up into the attic. The flexible ducting attached to the fan connects to a centralized vent in the ceiling. This vent removes the hot air and brings cool air in through open windows in the home. This allows fresh air into the house while cooling it, rather than recirculating stale air throughout the home as an air conditioner does.

Fresh air contains more oxygen than stale air, and humans need oxygen to live. In fact, the air in the earth’s atmosphere consists of 21 percent oxygen. The whole house fan helps to bring this oxygen-rich air into the home while removing any stuffiness. The air filled with carbon dioxide makes its way out through the centralized vent and the windows bring the fresh air into the house. Everyone living in the residence breathes easier thanks to the fan.

Improved Air Quality

Indoor air quality remains a concern today, as people spend most of their time inside. They breathe in contaminants when doing so, as these contaminants circulate throughout the home every time the HVAC system is on. With the whole house fan, they breathe cleaner air, as it comes into the home from outdoors.

People keep their homes closed up during the winter months. This allows pollutants to become trapped in the HVAC system, and these pollutants range from pet dander and odors to bacteria and allergens. The problem has increased over the years because homes have become more airtight. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency states indoor air can contain up to five times the pollutants found in outdoor air.

Whole house fans help to remove these pollutants so the occupants of the home don’t breathe them in. In addition, the fan helps to prevent mold and mildew buildup, which can harm the health of the home’s occupants.

An Environmentally Friendly Cooling Option

A whole house fan reduces a person’s overall energy usage, which lowers their carbon footprint. This makes the earth healthier. In addition, it extends the life of the HVAC system. As energy is used to make new systems, this reduced usage also benefits the planet. Many people overlook this when determining whether to buy a whole house fan, but it is one benefit they should consider.

In fact, homeowners in certain climates find they no longer need to use the air conditioning system. The fan is enough to keep the home at a comfortable temperature all summer. Talk with the HVAC technician to learn if this may be the case where you live.

Lower Energy Costs

Thirteen percent of a person’s energy bill goes to cooling the home. Installing a whole house fan in Glendora helps reduce this number, which is of importance today. The only two things a person spends more on are heating the home and powering the various electronics families use today.

With this fan in place, the HVAC system won’t run as often and operating the fan only costs pennies per hour. The homeowner won’t need to use it as often because it cools the home so quickly as well. A whole house fan is so effective in cooling the home you don’t need to run the air conditioner to remain comfortable.

Additionally, as the HVAC system sees less use, it lasts longer. Homeowners know how costly it can be to replace this household system. They appreciate knowing they won’t have to do so as often thanks to the whole house fan taking on some or all of the burden of cooling the home.

Never overlook the benefits of installing a whole house fan. Many homeowners find this is what they need to reduce their energy usage while keeping the home at a comfortable temperature. In addition, it becomes of excellent benefit when the power goes out, as it can bring the temperature down quickly when the power is restored. Anyone who has experienced an extended power outage knows how important this can be. Learn more today to see if this device is right for your home. Many homeowners in Rancho Cucamonga will discover it is and make the purchase right away.

Why Healthy Indoor Air Quality Is Important And How To Improve It

Heating and cooling professionals discuss air quality with property owners during inspections and seasonal maintenance services. Improved air quality can lower health risks to property owners and their families, and the cleaner air can cut down on illnesses.

HVAC professionals can follow a full checklist of steps for improving air quality during maintenance services. The service providers can also provide recommendations for the owners to follow to manage air quality between these services. By reviewing all the ways to improve air quality, homeowners can find better ways to improve their health and eliminate harmful substances from the home effectively.

Schedule Seasonal Cleaning Services For HVAC

At the beginning of each season, the property owner should set up seasonal cleaning services for heating and cooling units. HVAC professionals will open the entire system and clean the components with appropriate chemicals to remove all allergens, dust, contaminants, and pollutants.

The services are completed for interior and exterior units to increase airflow and prevent any debris from spreading through the home when the unit is turned on. Seasonal cleaning is a part of HVAC maintenance, and the earlier the owners set up the services, the better their systems will run, and the air quality will improve.

Keep Air Filters Changed Properly

HVAC maintenance instructions define how often most owners should change out their air filters. However, owners with pets and a higher volume of dust in the home need to change out the air filters more than once a month. Pet hair and dander can get sucked up into the units and spread throughout the home. The owner must also use the appropriate air filter size for their systems. An HVAC technician can measure the unit if the owner doesn’t know the correct size.

Install An Air Purifier In The Home

An air purifier or cleaner is a beneficial installation that can control impurities in the air. Property owners get recommendations for the systems from HVAC professionals according to the size of the home and how much dust accumulates in the living spaces.

These installations will also have an air filter that must be cleaned out at regular intervals to keep the product working as expected. Studies show that homes that have an air cleaner stay cleaner and won’t present owners with a higher frequency of allergy symptoms.

An HVAC professional can also explain all maintenance tasks for the units to retain coverage under the manufacturer’s warranty. Service providers can help homeowners find a unit that meets their household needs and their budgets.

Deep Clean The Flooring

All properties should undergo a deep cleaning service at least once every three months. The services include deep cleaning the flooring, and carpet can allow debris to build up and cause a multitude of air quality issues.

Shampooing or steam cleaning carpets is a great way to lift and remove debris that is deep inside the fibers, and property owners who have pets may need to set up the services more often to manage pet odors. Deep cleaning can also maintain the flooring and prevent the owner from facing repairs or replacement requirements prematurely.

Groom Your Pets

When addressing indoor air quality, pets are a common culprit for unpleasant and unwanted smells. While pet owners love their fur babies, the pets can develop foul smells if their coat becomes dirty. Dander can also get all over the property and decrease the air quality.

When reviewing options for improving the air quality, many HVAC professionals explain that frequent pet grooming can manage unwanted smells and control dander. The pets will also feel better, face fewer instances of skin irritation, and stay on a flea and tick program more effectively. Dogs are more likely to develop smells faster since the pets travel in and out of the property more often for potty requirements.

Keep Porches And Decks Cleaned

During the spring, pollen will cover everything, including automobiles, decks, and porches. As the owner travels in and out of their home, pollen can attach to their clothing and shoes and get tracked into the home. Regular porch and deck cleaning services can help the owners lower the amount of pollen that gets into the home.

By controlling the allergens more effectively, the owners experience fewer allergy symptoms and enjoy spring more. Pollen is among the most common allergens found in HVAC systems, too, and more frequent system cleanings in the spring could improve indoor air quality dramatically.

Place Live Plants In The Home

Live plants absorb carbon dioxide in the air and release higher volumes of oxygen. Homeowners who have live plants in the home can improve air quality quickly since there are higher volumes of oxygen in the indoor air.

When choosing live plants for the home, studies show that greenery is a better choice since the plants do not have blooms. Flowers are more likely to spread allergens in the air, and some of the flowering plants are not safe selections for indoor use. Some plants are also dangerous for pets.
