Keep warm this winter with a hearty chili meal.
1 lb ground beef, venison, or turkey
2 onions, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 tbl jalapeno, finely chopped
1 can Mexican-style tomatoes (14 oz)
2 can tomato sauce (16 oz total)
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (14 oz)
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed (14 oz)
1 cup water
2 tbl cumin
2 tbl chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp paprika (preferably smoked)
Toppings: sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onion (chopped)
- Cook ground meat with onions and peppers in dutch oven.
- Drain excess grease and add tomatoes, seasonings, and water, bring to a boil.
- Add beans, cover and simmer 1-2 hours.
- Serve with toppings.
